History & Mission
Our goal at Earthwise is to preserve Seattle's architectural past by salvaging reusable building materials and architectural features that would otherwise be headed for the landfill, and offering them for sale to the community.

Builders, contractors, renovations specialists and homeowners increasingly seek these reusable resources. In addition, these materials are well crafted and have the added benefit of being a cost-effective alternative to buying new.
Earthwise was founded by Kurt Petrauskas over a decade ago and his steady hand is still at the helm. Acquisitions and salvage are in the skilled hands of James Klicpera and Ben Menzel. The store would not function without the talent, charm, wit and expertise of Kadence Englehardt, Diana Chapman, Todd Ziegler, and Trevor Buringrud.

Non-Profit Partners
Our contribution to our community is vitally important to us. We partner with 3 local non-profit organizations: Earthcorps, Historic Seattle and New World Villages. Earthwise accepts donations of usable building materials on behalf of these three non-profit agencies, so YES, we can give you a Tax Donation Receipt for your donated materials!

The materials are sold to raise money for historic preservation, habitat restoration and sustainability programs. Since its inception, Earthwise's donation program has raised thousands of dollars for our non-profit partners. It's just one of the ways we give back to our community.
We are committed to our industry and are members of the Northwest Building Salvage Network.
